Con l'acquisto di questo appezzamento nel 1971, padre Alain iniziò la sua avventura in Borgogna.  Unica perché da allora è coltivata biologicamente.  Il vino matura sui lieviti in vasche di cemento.  Il risultato è un vino cremoso, ma non invadente, con una buona mineralità e una buona persistenza.  I vini bianchi Verdet invecchiano sorprendentemente bene!

CHARDONNAY MONTEVERRO IGT 2020 - MONTEVERRO

"The Silver Coast in the glass", this is how this Chardonnay can be described. Iodine and white pulp fruit notes lead to a Rossini-esque crescendo that brings applause. Color: Beautiful shiny gray gold with touches of mercury and parmesan on the nail. On the nose: Explosion of fruit such as pear, apricot with touches of toasted brioche, crème brulée on a minerality of slate and elderflower. On the palate: Round and fresh entry that evolves into an acidic finish with touches of grapefruit, lemon, quince and gunpowder. Aging on fine lees with batonnage. 100% gravity procedure Aging: 14 months in French oak barriques for 50% of the production with 20% new wood. The remaining 50% in an egg-shaped concrete tank Bottling: No clarification, light filtration A wine, a challenge: forging a purebred Chardonnay near the sea, in Tuscany. A successful bet for Monteverro who managed to create a wine of great aromatic intensity and power but at the same time precise and pure. Careful work in the vineyard and the benefits of the constant sea breeze that caresses our vineyards give us a wine of freshness, the climatic conditions and the aging choices - barrique and cement - the structure and complexity. A one-of-a-kind Chardonnay on the Tuscan coast, produced in limited quantities. Monteverro is located at the foot of the medieval village of Capalbio, in the southernmost part of Tuscany, the Maremma, distant a few kilometers from the sea and is characterized by its characteristic slopes with stony red clay soil.
